Jack Taylor is accused of murder and sentenced to hang. Paddy and Jack's friends work to prove Jack's innocence.

A new coach line called The Southern Cross challenges The Australian Express for the mail contract. Con accepts their challenge and decides to race them. But he realizes they are playing dirty and will stop at nothing to win.

A drought hits the area and threatens the livelihood of the farmers and the coach line. The settlers pray for rain, but their prayers seem to go unanswered. A preacher arrives at Five Mile Creek and promises to bring rain with his faith.

A group of women from England arrive at Five Mile Creek as mail order brides. They are greeted by their prospective husbands. But some of the women are not happy. Meanwhile, Kate receives a marriage proposal from a wealthy landowner.

Maggie decides to leave Five Mile Creek and go back to America with Adam. Her journey is not easy, as she faces danger and hardship along the way. She also realizes that she still has feelings for Ben, who tries to stop her from leaving.

Jack has been late on a regular business, and seems to be needing a break from running the coach line. Little do they know, there has been a secret he has been keeping from them.

A bounty hunter makes his way through Five Mile Creek. Sam takes an instant liking to the Alpha male persona, but things turn for the worst when it appears that a wanted man may have been staying at five mile creek.

A forest fire starts first in the town, and then begins to move across the country. Five Mile Creek lies in its path. Con is put up against his ultimate fear, something he has not felt since the Civil War.

Maggie and a group of school girls go missing. This mysterious mountain has caused people to disappear in the past. The crew at Five Mile Creek push themselves to find Maggie and the girls.

Kate tries to play matchmaker for Con and Annie, who have grown closer since Maggie's departure. She hopes that they will fall in love and get married. But her plan backfires when she realizes that she is still in love with Con herself.

Simon Galt won the deed to Five Mile Creek from Kate's brother Eddie in a poker game. Kate feels misused, so she takes a job in town. The Five Mile Creek family works to get Kate to return home and secure the deed to the way station.

A wealthy woman named Lady Rivers arrives at Five Mile Creek. She takes an interest in the coach line and offers to invest in it. She also has a hidden motive: she wants to turn the coach line into a luxury service for the rich.

Dec 1984

The Australian Express faces financial ruin. Charlie Withers announces his retirement. The men at Five Mile Creek try to capture a wild horse to solve their financial difficulties.
